House of Kiran helps raise over $40,000 for the Speech and Stuttering Institute

Speaking of Shakespeare… a showcase of acclaimed, multidisciplinary Canadian artists came together last night for an evening of theatre to support The Speech and Stuttering Institute. Produced by Canadian singer, dancer and actress, Krystal Kiran Garib, the works of Shakespeare were reinterpreted by these dynamic performers. Cast included Tony Award-Winning Actor Brent Carver, Grammy Award-Winning Musician Jonathan Arons and the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Company of West Side Story to name a few. The fundraising gala, which was held at the historic Eglinton Grand Theatre in Toronto, raised over $40, 000 for Speech and Stuttering Institute, money which will help build a new wing at the Toronto Institute. The event was held in memory of late speech-language pathologist Barabara Meisner Fishbein. For more info visit www.houseofkiran.com www.speechandstuttering.com

A House of Kiran Production

DesiFEST

I'm premiering my first musical production tomorrow! What can I say? I'm really excited! I have written, directed and choreographed (and will also be performing in) a thirty minute show based on the movie and musical, "A Chorus Line', albeit with an urban and contemporary twist. It'll be taking place at the Harboutfront Centre in Toronto and is a special production for the RBC DesiFEST VIP Gala. I want to give a shout out to my amazing cast - Omar Forrest, Kristi Frank, Troy Feldman, Natalie Krill, Mathew Sanford, Karun Pathak, Sarah Dyson-Murphy and Joseph Sevillo for all of their passion in making this such a special and unique project. It is the first official production under my new company, "House of Kiran". I also recently produced an Shakespearean Sonnet show entitled "An Antique Song". It was a benefit for the Speech and Stuttering Institute, which is something very close to my heart as I grew up with a speech impediment. You can hear more details about the project in the video below.

I hope this note finds whoever is reading it happy, healthy and in positive spirits. Thank you for taking the time to visit and be sure to come back to see all the changes that will be made as well current updates! Much love and light to you all...constant blessings.... - Krystal
